Pentapeptide 18 is a new anti-wrinkle peptide. Different versions of the product can be prepared by adding D-tyrosine to its N-terminus or C-terminus.
Pentapeptide has a fragment of collagen I. It is added to skin care products as an anti-aging peptide active ingredient.

What does a pentapeptide do?

1. Experimental data show that Pentapeptide-18 containing D-tyrosine exhibits good whitening and anti-wrinkle effects.
2. Outside nerve cells, Pentapeptide-18 binds to enkephalin receptors, slowing muscle contraction and thus reducing wrinkles.
   In addition, it has a synergistic effect with arginine in anti-wrinkle, and the combination of the two can achieve better firming and wrinkle removal.
3. The effect of peptides on melanin content and tyrosinase activity.
   On the one hand, this ingredient inhibits the synthesis of melanin in the basal layer of the epidermis. A series of experiments verified the inhibitory effect of pentapeptide-18 containing D-tyrosine on melanin synthesis.
   On the other hand, pentapeptide-18 can inhibit the production of melanin induced by α-MSH and UVB.
4. Pentapeptide-18 not only has the function of anti-melanin production, but also maintains anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkle and anti-aging effects.
