Polydatin is a substance that combines resveratrol with glucose.It is extracted from the dried rhizome of the traditional Chinese medicine Polygonum cuspidatum and is one of the main active ingredients.
It appears as a white needle-shaped crystalline powder. It is slightly soluble in water and ethyl acetate, and easily soluble in methanol and ethanol.
In the 2020 edition of the "Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China", the content of rhubarb and polydatin is used as the quality standard of Polygonum cuspidatum.
